Classic Elegance Hacker Kitchen Design

The Häcker Style Spectrum is a tool we have developed to guide you to selecting the ideal style for your bespoke kitchen. The first style on the spectrum is Classic Elegance, a timeless and sophisticated look that exudes warmth and charm. It is characterised by a combination of traditional elements, soft colours, natural materials, and ornate details that create an inviting atmosphere in the heart of the home. Designer Chiara Porcu explains the key elements of a Classic Elegance kitchen design and how they can be incorporated into your own kitchen.

Framed Doors (including Shaker)
Classic Elegance kitchen designs always incorporate framed cabinet doors as a hallmark of their style. The frame that surrounds the cabinet door adds visual interest and dimension to the cabinetry. Shaker-style fronts are a favoured choice in this type of design due to their refined appearance.

Traditional Handles and Knobs
Traditional handles and knobs are small details that can have a big impact on the overall look and feel of the kitchen and are usually made of metal and can be finished in a variety of colours, including gold, silver, brass, and nickel, to complement other components in the kitchen. In addition to their aesthetic appeal, traditional handles and knobs are also highly practical. They can provide a comfortable grip for opening and closing cabinets and drawers and can be easily replaced or updated as needed.

Coloured Metals
Coloured metals such as gold, copper, brass, and nickel are popular in Classic Elegance kitchen design. A gold finish can provide a luxurious and opulent look to the cabinetry, while a bronze finish can add warmth and depth to the kitchen design. Similarly, black finishes on metal can create a modern and edgy look, while still maintaining the classic elegance of the kitchen. These metals can be incorporated in various ways, including cabinet handles, light fixtures, faucets, and appliances.

Natural Wood
This material adds texture to the space and can be used in cabinets, flooring, or countertops. Wood fronts can also be left in their natural state to showcase their unique grain pattern, or they can be distressed or glazed. Another way to incorporate natural wood into a Classic Clegance kitchen design is through the flooring. Wood flooring creates a seamless flow between the kitchen and the rest of the home. The type of wood used for the flooring can vary, from light-coloured oak or maple to darker shades of walnut or cherry.

Cornices
Cornices, an ornamental moulding, are a staple of Classic Elegance kitchen design. They are often used to conceal the gap between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling, creating a cohesive look. Some cornices may feature intricate carvings or moldings, while others may have a more streamlined design. They can also help visually balance the space. By extending the cabinets to the ceiling and adding a cornice, the kitchen can appear more spacious.

Soft Colours
Soft colours are another hallmark of a Classic Elegance kitchen design. Some popular choices include cream, white, beige, and pastel shades of blue and green. Soft colour can be used on the walls, cabinets, and countertops, and can be complemented by natural wood and coloured metal.

Ornate Worktop Profiles/Edges
Ornate worktop profiles and edges create a stunning focal point by their intricate details such as curves, scrolls, and bevels. They can be made from a variety of materials, including marble, granite, or quartz, to create a luxurious and sophisticated look.

Ceramic Sinks
Ceramic sinks can be designed to complement the classic style of a kitchen, while also providing a functional and practical element to the space. They are known for their large, deep basins and exposed front panel that is typically decorated with a simple, clean design, such as a plain or grooved surface, which can add a touch of elegance to the sink. Ceramic sinks can also be designed in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit the needs of the homeowner. For example, a large, rectangular sink with a smooth, glossy finish can provide a classic look, while a smaller, round sink with a matte finish can add a vintage charm to the space.

The beauty of a Classic Elegance kitchen lies in its ability to evoke memories of the past while providing the convenience of the present. With its stunning design and meticulous attention to detail, it exudes an air of sophistication and luxury that is unparalleled, making it the perfect addition to any home. If you are looking for a kitchen that combines the best of both worlds, look no further than Häcker’s Classic Elegance style, which can be tailored to your every desire.
