The client wanted a kitchen for hosting and daily life that was warm in character, traditional in feel, with a neutral palette that could accommodate both.
Amrin designed around Häcker’s Contemporary Classic style, combining Ash lacquer real wood framed fronts in Agate Blue with flat-panel Nordic Oak laminate to create a layered material language that is grounded without being heavy.
The layout required structural adjustment; the original window on the sink wall was closed to allow a full, symmetrical run of cabinetry. Glass-fronted cabinets with integrated lighting were introduced along this wall, providing display space for the client’s glassware while adding depth to the composition.
The island serves as the working centre of the kitchen. A Miele induction and gas hob combination is built into the island alongside a Miele SmartLine ceramic downdraft extractor. A low-height seating area is attached directly to the island, with a dining table extending from it with an open niche beneath the table provides accessible storage for glassware from the dining side, while custom LED lighting underneath reinforces the table’s visual separation from the island.
A dedicated coffee area is concealed behind a tinted glass roller shutter above the wine cooler, keeping small appliances out of sight. Internal storage throughout includes a supermarket pull-out unit, internal drawers and integrated channel handle lighting within the cabinetry. The SapienStone Arabescato Natural worksurface runs across all preparation zones.
