The client had chosen white kitchens for her previous homes and wanted a different direction for this property, a darker, more grounded palette for an open-plan kitchen adjacent to the living area.

The main cabinetry is finished in matte Graphite satin lacquer, with the island in Okobo Coffee Brown. Glass-fronted units are placed within the composition to introduce visual depth and a tonal connection to the Siemens extractor above. The material contrast is deliberate; dark cabinetry offset by a Silestone Miami White island worktop that brings lightness and balance to the centre of the space.

A key consideration was keeping the kitchen visually ordered given its proximity to the living area. A raised Absolute Black granite breakfast bar conceals the sink zone from the sightline, maintaining a clean presentation from the living space. A concealed door, designed as a tall unit within the cabinet run, provides access to the laundry room without breaking the continuity of the design.

Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry provides full-height storage throughout, fitted with internal systems including LeMans corner units, pull-out pantry storage and integrated waste separation. Additional storage is built beneath the island breakfast bar for serveware.
