The island as
the anchor.
02/ Monolith is a collection built around presence. The kitchen is centred on a dominant island, a singular object within the room that grounds the space and defines how everything around it is arranged.
Supporting cabinetry is deliberately restrained, allowing the island to carry the material weight and spatial authority of the design.
Sculptural, grounded,
deliberately still.
In a 02/ Monolith kitchen, the island reads as a freestanding volume, substantial in material, considered in proportion and minimal in visual interruption. Natural stone or high-end solid surfaces wrap the island form, creating a piece that feels permanent rather than assembled.
The surrounding cabinetry sits in quiet support; neutral fronts in greige, beige, off-white or taupe that recede and allow the island to hold the centre of the composition. Detailing is handleless throughout. The objective is not complexity but conviction, a kitchen where a single, well-resolved element defines the entire spatial character. Monolith suits homes where the kitchen occupies an open volume and the island becomes the natural focal point of daily life.
Specified to
the collection.
Materials, surfaces and components typically associated with Monolith kitchens.
Materials
Neutral matte lacquer or polymer glass fronts for supporting cabinetry. The island is typically finished in natural stone or premium solid surface with materials chosen for their visual mass and tactile depth.
Colours
A restrained palette of warm neutrals; greige, beige, off-white, taupe and soft stone tones. Colour is used to recede the perimeter and allow the island material to command attention.
Countertops
Natural stone, high-end solid surface or ceramic selected for the island as a defining material, not just a work surface. Perimeter countertops are specified to complement without competing.
Organisation Units
Internal storage systems configured within the island and supporting tall units. Drawer systems, integrated bins and concealed pantry storage keep the island surface clear and the kitchen visually composed.
Sinks
Integrated or undermount sinks positioned within the island workflow. Material and profile are specified to maintain the island’s unbroken surface presence.
Taps
Low-profile or pull-out taps in finishes that align with the island material palette. Selected for function and proportion, visible but never dominant.
